Description, Category Buyer As a Category Buyer for Machined Parts, you will be part of our customers Global Sourcing Mechanics & Electromechanics department and play a key role in optimizing the value delivered by suppliers within the category of machined parts. You will work closely with the Category Manager and contribute to achieving company goals in quality, delivery, cost, sustainability and technology (QDCST). You will naturally be part of a team that drives operational excellence and supports growth targets through continuous improvement actions within the supply base, projects and processes. Mission & Purpose • Take ownership for the performance of your category, ensuring supplier value and alignment with business strategy. • Collaborate cross-functionally to achieve the best time to market, the right investments and operational excellence. • Build, coach and lead your category team towards best-in-class sourcing, developing a high-performing, reliable and innovative supplier base. Main Activities & Responsibilities • Own, develop and manage the category strategy for your category and ensure alignment with internal stakeholders. • Review and analyze sourcing-related data to identify savings opportunities and trends. • Maintain and develop a competitive supplier base and classify suppliers according to the category strategy. • Gather insights into suppliers, market trends, pricing and innovations relevant to the category. • Continuously seek ways to optimize supplier performance on QDCST. • Balance efforts and initiatives on QDCST to strategy, yearly challenges and category specifics. • Secure traction towards KPIs through team and pulse meetings, reporting and leadership. • Lead SRM meetings to cultivate supplier relationships and drive performance. • Responsible for negotiation and maintenance of general contracts such as supplier agreements. • Seek sourcing synergies within the Business Area and across other Business Areas in leverage skill and scale. • Budget cost development and investments. • Secure long-term capacity and investment plan. • Lead supplier transfers and introductions. • Ensure proactive risk management within the supplier base, monitoring global geopolitical risks and creating risk scenarios. • Implement engineering design changes on serial and spare parts.
